Website privacy policy
Last updated: 1 September 2026
This policy explains how Jupetto (Pty) Ltd (“Jupetto”, “we”, “us”) handles personal information collected through this website, jupetto.com.
It covers this website only. Our products collect and process personal information in their own right, and each is governed by its own privacy policy.
Who is responsible
Jupetto (Pty) Ltd (registration number 2026/502015/07) is the responsible party under the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA) and the data controller under the EU General Data Protection Regulation and the UK GDPR where they apply. Our full company details are on the about page.
What we collect on this website
This website has no accounts, no forms and no comment facility. We do not set advertising or analytics cookies, and we do not use tracking pixels or third-party analytics scripts.
The only personal information involved is therefore:
- Information you send us by email. If you write to contact@jupetto.com, we receive your email address, your name if you give it, and whatever you choose to put in the message.
- Technical request data. Our hosting provider records standard server information — IP address, browser user agent, requested URL, timestamp — in order to serve pages, keep the site available and defend it against abuse.
Why we process it, and on what basis
- To answer you. Where you have contacted us, we process your message to reply and to keep a record of the correspondence. The lawful basis is our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries, and your consent in sending them.
- To operate and secure the site. Server logs are processed on the basis of our legitimate interest in keeping the website available, performant and free of abuse.
We do not sell personal information, we do not share it for advertising, and we do not use it for automated decision-making or profiling.
Who processes it on our behalf
- Our cloud hosting provider, which serves this website and processes server request data on our instruction.
- Our email provider, which operates the mailboxes behind our jupetto.com addresses.
Both operate outside South Africa, so correspondence and request logs may be processed abroad, including in the United States. We rely on those providers’ contractual data-protection commitments, including standard contractual clauses where required, to give the information a comparable level of protection. We will name a specific provider on request to contact@jupetto.com.
How long we keep it
Email correspondence is kept for as long as needed to deal with the matter and for a reasonable period afterwards for our records, then deleted. Server logs are retained for a short period by our hosting provider for security and diagnostics.
Your rights
Subject to the conditions in the applicable law, you may ask us to confirm what personal information we hold about you, to correct it, to delete it, to restrict how we use it, to object to our use of it, or to provide it in a portable form.
Write to contact@jupetto.com with “Data request” in the subject line. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator (South Africa), or with your local supervisory authority in the EU or the UK.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page. Material changes will be described here rather than made silently.
Questions about this policy can go to contact@jupetto.com, or see our contact page.
